AI Prompts for Bathroom Design

Oct 10, 2026·Small shower room, family bathroom, powder room, wood-look floor, spa: five prompts and their results.
1. Small walk-in shower room / 1. Petite salle d'eau avec douche à l'italienne

A bathroom prompt works when it gives the size of the room, the tile and how high it goes, the fixtures, and the light. Bathrooms are small and almost entirely tiled, so the tile sentence decides the image. Each prompt below is shown with the image it produced.

1. Small walk-in shower room

Prompt

A small bathroom, 4 square metres, walk-in shower with a single fixed glass panel, large-format matte beige porcelain on floor and walls, a floating oak vanity with a round mirror, brushed nickel taps, one towel hung unevenly on a hook. Daylight from a frosted window. Eye-level photo, 24mm lens, straight verticals, no steam, no glow.

1. Small walk-in shower room

Single glass panel, floating oak vanity and round mirror are there, and 'no steam, no glow' kept it plain.

2. Family bathroom with green tiles

Prompt

A family bathroom with a white built-in bathtub, green vertical-stacked wall tiles #5F7A61 to door height, white paint above, terrazzo floor, wall-mounted basin, a wooden stool with a folded towel, a child's bath toy on the tub edge. Flat morning light. Phone photo from the door, deep focus, unedited colour.

2. Family bathroom with green tiles

The tile stops at door height with white paint above, as written. The bath toy on the tub edge is the detail that makes it a family bathroom.

3. Powder room under the stairs

Prompt

A powder room under the stairs, dark blue painted walls #23395B, small wall-hung basin with a brass tap, patterned cement floor tiles in black and white, an oval mirror, one wall sconce on, warm light. Photographed at eye level, 28mm lens, slight grain.

3. Powder room under the stairs

Dark blue walls, patterned cement tiles and a brass tap all came back. In the English run the model returned the image split in two panels, so check the frame before using a result. (Image from the French run.)

4. Wood-look floor

Prompt

A bathroom with a wood-look floor: light oak-effect porcelain planks, white square wall tiles with grey grout, a freestanding white vanity with two drawers, black framed shower screen, a plant on the window sill. Overcast daylight. Eye-level photo, 28mm lens, a bath mat slightly rumpled on the floor.

4. Wood-look floor

The oak-effect planks, white square tiles with grey grout and black-framed screen are there, and the rumpled bath mat keeps it from looking staged.

5. Spa-style, evening sun

Prompt

A spa-style bathroom in warm stone tones: honed limestone-look tiles, a deep soaking tub by the window, a teak bench, linen towels, a single pendant, walls in #D8CFC0. Low evening sun through slatted blinds drawing stripes on the floor. Eye-level photo, 35mm lens, natural colour, no candles, no fog.

5. Spa-style, evening sun

The slatted-blind shadows on the floor carry the image. 'No candles, no fog' stopped the usual spa clichés.

What these five runs showed

  • ✓Say where the tile stops: full height, door height, or only in the shower.
  • ✓Give the grout a colour when the tile is plain. White tile with grey grout is a different room from white with white.
  • ✓Name each fixture's type: wall-hung basin, floating vanity, built-in tub.
  • ✓Bathrooms attract clichés. Write 'no steam, no candles, no glow' if you do not want them.
  • ✓Check the frame: one of our ten runs came back as a split image.

Starting from a photo of your own room

Questions

What should an AI bathroom prompt include?

The size, the tile and how high it goes, the fixtures by type, and the light.

Can AI redesign my own bathroom from a photo?

Yes. Upload the photo and ask for one change at a time, naming what must stay.

How do I prompt a small bathroom?

Give the area in square metres and use a wide lens such as 24mm in the camera sentence.

Is the image enough to brief a tiler?

It shows the look. Layout, waterproofing and slopes still need a professional.

How these prompts were tested

Each prompt on this page was run once in English and once in French on 5 October 2026 with Google's Gemini 3.1 Flash Image model. The images are those results, resized and otherwise untouched. That is one run per language: the same prompt can return a different image next time, and other tools will answer differently. Where a run went wrong, we say so.
